Original Charcoal Drawing For Sale-$40 9'x12' Strathmore® 400 paper
It's currently framed and I can send pictures if you would like it already in a matted frame-drawing plus frame is $50-shipping not included

Recently I've taken a break from my computer to work on something I've never worked with, charcoal. I have to say I highly enjoyed working on this. The deep black you can get is fantastic! I purposefully chose a reference image that had a horse with a lot of shine in its coat so I could really follow the high contrast allowing me to get the feel of using charcoal.

It's been a long time since I truly enjoyed working on an image (let alone traditional) I even woke up early in the morning before work just to have a few extra minutes to add to it. This is also the only drawing I've done that I've EVER hung in my own house. I framed it with an olive green matte and it now hangs in my living room; the olive green compliments the burnt orange and browns in the room. :D I'd like to do a similar piece to hang on the same wall, framed in the same way. So expect another one soon!

Tools:
Charcoal 4B soft-2B, 4B medium (I'm not sure the difference between the soft and medium, but this is just worked for me, the mediums was a darker black and easy to move around while the soft was like my base layer of shading)
9"x12" Strathmore Medium Paper
Roughly 5-7 hours
Edited the grainyness from my scanner a bit in photoshop, also my scanner left a dark strip in the bottom that I attempted the lighten. Over all though, the original image really does have that much contrast in it-I love contrast.

This is absolutely breathtaking.
Is charcoal easy to work with?
