Somethings Different

The decision to allow Braydan to race in #H-E-S's Fly By Night race did not come easily to Savannah. It would be a lot of work preparing him and training him to fly to be anywhere near as good as the horses who already were accustomed to potions. Not only would it be a lot of work and dangerous to the in experienced flyer, but Savannah was worried that Bray would then not be happy with life on the ground. Such exciting, thrilling, and powerful abilities were bound to intoxicate him like a drug and make him ill tempered on the ground.

Weighing her options, she considered the fact that this was a Nordy only race so the meeting place would be a prime opportunity for her to meet other Nordy breeders. She wanted to see how the other import Nordy's were getting a long with their new owners and perhaps scope out a few mares for breeding. She also couldn't help but feel a great sense of pride in wanting to show off her sexy stud boy who was doing so well in training.

So she decided she would chance it and order a trial potion so that Bray may begin training for the race. She gave him only a few sips so there will still be enough for race day. She will give him a few days to get used to them on his body in the indoor arena, not letting him fly outside yet. Then if she thinks he's ready, she will take him out to a grassy field and let him try these wings on for size!

But I don't think Bray quite knows what do to with the awkward things protruding from his shoulders!

And wow did it feel good to do traditional work again. My students at school have been on me for drawing ponies for them to color and I can't just draw one for one student-all the little girls in my class want one on break time. So the feel of graphite again really wet my appetite for working again. Anyway, pretty pleased with it, though I shaded with a different technique than I used to use. But I redeemed it with his texture in his coat. I do wish I could have made his roan show up a bit better, but I couldn't get the head and legs darker without losing detail or messing the wings up. O well, I will try again. I love having my boy of read drawing paper instead of just the doodles.
